This application note focuses on two challenging areas for nanoparticles: reliable, rapid scale-up of nanoparticle purification; and quantitative analysis of the concentration of species present. The Biomek 4000 Laboratory Automation Workstation helps overcome the human variable and gives a consistent, reproducible, highthroughput method for gradient setup, which provides a breakthrough for scale-up problems. Preparative Ultracentrifugation helps to maintain reliability between runs, making them highly reproducible. Analytical Ultracentrifugation is ideal for analyzing nanoparticles like nanotubes, quantum dots, and graphene, because it requires a low volume and low concentration— while providing statistically significant details about the composition of the nanoparticles in solution.
